My Husband’s Flaw written by Danielle Christopher

Now the truth readers. After writing glowing reports about my husband, there is one thing that irks me about him. It boils me so much that I almost got my own room. I almost walked out after considering putting a pillow over his head.

Yes. He snores.

For all our years together I have crammed pillows over my plugged ears just to get some sleep. I have tried to roll him on his side in effort to get him quiet. On some nights it works until I have to get up to pee, and he sneaks back on his back. For those nights, I lay awake dreaming of one day getting my own room.

Lying next to his log-cutting rumble that shakes the bed I am dreaming of peace. After all, to maintain weight-loss one needs an eight-hour sleep. My jeans size isn’t pretty. By 2am I blame him. When kids entered the picture I figured sleep would be a whole new dream. Or so I thought.

Through the diaper changes, feedings and rocking to sleep, somehow I got some shut-eye. Not in my own bed, but in the kids bed or in the rocking chair. As the sun would rise washing away the cat-napping night, I felt rested to a small degree.

I felt remotely happy and my family noticed my new found energy. I feel a pang of guilt that I am happy to just catch sleep, no matter where it is. I realize then that I am complaining about my husband’s one flaw. His only flaw. I am a lucky lady.
