How I Got Busy In The Bedroom…Again written by Heather Held

Ahhhhh the University days – some of the best days of my life!  I LOVED the single life –going out and partying with not a care in the world and no one to report to.  Meeting lots of great guys and then feeling cool about dumping them – until they did it to me of course!!  I thought I would NEVER be able to settle down with just one guy/sex partner, until my husband came around.

I actually enjoyed going out with him, sharing my good times and bad times with him and knowing I had someone to come home to – my new best friend.  Now let’s fast forward to KIDS.  Was I ready for kids – NO!  And boy, did that ever put a damper on our sex life!  I could hardly even stay awake long enough to have it.  When I did have some energy there was always a cry at the most inopportune moment.  Of course when they were older it would become a knock at the bedroom door followed by “what are you doing in there!?”

We would go out with friends and joke around about “not getting it enough” (usually initiated by my husband), and found they were pretty much ALL in the same boat.  The only difference was – they were not doing anything to rectify their situation.

We knew we had to do something about this and managed to find new “times” and places to fit “it” in.  I was always a “night time sex” kind of person, but things have changed.  My parents take the kids on Mondays after school and the “TV Room” has now become an alternative “shagging den” until my son finally sleeps on his own at night.

What really prompted me to write this blog was an excerpt I recently read stating “more than a quarter of women over 35 never have sex,” – SCARY!  Well, all I can say is my husband and I are not going to fall into this category.  We’re a happier, more relaxed couple since we make time for “Getting Busy in the Bedroom”- all it takes is a bit of ingenuity, creativity and spontaneity!
